Responding to Visual Art in the Language Arts Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
This session will explore a variety of methods that teachers can use to engage their students effectively with visual art in the language arts classroom. We will consider viewing as a form of reading, and how responding to visual art can allow young people to develop skills required to navigate the multimodal realities of contemporary lived experience, both in and out of the classroom. We will also look to comics art as a particularly unpredictable and dynamic textual form.
